Established in 2021 by KC founding father Mr. Kith Chhoeurn, Morodok Basedth has since grown into something larger than one person — a young, mixed-background team of co-founders who took the risk of planting where there was only empty land, choosing to build something green along the slopes of Phnom Sleuk mountain.
Every visitor's presence flows back to the people who did that planting. This is not agritourism as marketing. It is agritourism as an operating model — soil, team, and visitor all part of the same continuing story.

You do not need a gym. You need ground under your feet, open air in your lungs, and somewhere worth walking to. The 10 km circuit through rice paddies and mountain shade is always ready.

There is a particular quiet at dusk on the pond — when the light goes amber and the mountains go dark and the city feels genuinely far away. No programme. No agenda.

A farmer, an engineer, a teacher, and a banker at the same wooden table. The soil and sky are the great levellers — remove people from their desks and they remember how to talk.
ប្រពៃណី
The Thnong was planted by hand — by our team, in this ground. The ប្រក់ស្បូវ roof was built the way countryside kitchens have always been built. These are not decorations.

Movement is a gateway to presence. The 10 km adventure trail winds through natural terrain and open rice fields — built for runners and cyclists who want real distance, real elevation, real scenery.
The Cardamom foothills are not trying to impress you. They have been here longer than that. A sunset kayak. A quiet dawn walk through the papaya groves. The landscape itself is the therapy — no programme required.
There is something irreplaceable about a night under the stars, away from every screen. Families and groups of friends find, around a fire, the conversations that the week did not allow.
We are the classroom without walls. Remove people from their desks and they remember how to think. Remove the hierarchy of a boardroom and they remember how to talk to each other.

When you dine at Morodok Basedth, you are not simply eating a meal. You are tasting the biography of this soil — the accumulated seasons, the hands that planted, the rain that fell.
Walk the papaya grove — one full hectare of fruit grown by our team in this ground. The ធ្នង់ (Thnong) planted by our co-founders now gives afternoon shade to the cafe and the pond path. Beside them, the លម្មើរ (Date Palm) rows line the landscape along Phnom Sleuk.
AUTHENTIC_MENU — FARM_TO_TABLE
Wild snakehead fish from local waters. Lemongrass, fresh galangal, and seasonal vegetables from within the farm boundary. Our most celebrated broth.
Raised by the farmers of Basedth — fed on open ground, not a cage. Slow-cooked with tamarind and the sour notes that define Kampong Speu countryside cooking.
Whole or half, over charcoal, with fermented fish dipping sauce and fresh herbs from the farm. Best eaten with your hands as the sun goes down.
Fermented fish paste paired with Kresang — an ancestral preparation that few places still make with integrity. We do not make it for tourists. We make it because it is ours.
Charcoal-grilled produce harvested the same morning. Best enjoyed as the sun descends over the 3-hectare pond.

[04] THE_CAFE
The cafe at Morodok Basedth is not a venue that was designed and then built. It grew the way the countryside kitchen grows — from the materials at hand, the shade that was needed, the wood that was available.
“Sit under the ប្រក់ស្បូវ roof, hold something warm, and let the rice fields say what they always say: there is no hurry here.”
What is served under it was grown within sight of where you are sitting. Fresh papaya smoothies from the grove. Khmer iced coffee in the afternoon. A farm breakfast in the morning, with ingredients that did not travel far.

Whether you come for a morning trail or a week-long camp, Morodok Basedth asks only one thing: that you are actually here, in this ground, under this sky.

Trail running, cycling, kayaking, volleyball, walking — or simply standing in a papaya grove at 7am when the dew is still on the ground. Movement here is quiet and purposeful. Not performative.
